haamid rahim, aka dynoman, is a pakistani-american audio artist, composer, sound designer, dj, and founder of the haal sound, living in brooklyn by way of karachi. he is unbound by genre and convention, and crafts sonic worlds through spatial installations, narrative-driven compositions, original music, live sets, and dj performances.

he co-founded forever south in 2012, which pioneered karachi’s electronic music scene. during one of karachi’s most dangerous periods, his work contributed to a strong counterculture movement through warehouse raves, thought-provoking installations, cross-border residencies, and booking exchanges with crews across south asia.

since moving to new york in 2017, he founded and co-runs rare frequency transmissions (rft) and co-founded the tarka project, two pivotal forces in brooklyn’s music subculture. rft is known for its curatorial precision, music releases, and underground events. tarka focuses on highlighting new york’s diasporas through music, food, and artistic expression.

haamid’s professional audio credits include composition, sound design, and dialogue editing for some of the world’s most acclaimed studios and intellectual properties, such as sony pictures television, audible, barbie, wheel of fortune, jeopardy, and experimental directors like suneil sanzgiri.

his art resists conventional narratives, using sound as a tool for resistance to uncover what is hidden. his installations have appeared at the karachi biennale (talking in transit) and is part of a group headed to taiwan’s u-108 space (stories written by the sky).

haal, borrowed from the urdu word for "state of mind," is a sound meticulously crafted to reclaim authenticity. haamid intentionally created a modular synthesizer, scales derived from raagas, and grooves inspired by taals, forging a sound led by technology and futurism to reach a shared state of consciousness.

aside from creating spaces, haamid has dj’d and performed at some of the most influential nightclubs in the world, including nowadays, public records, le bain, and more.
